Dr. Roese, Ph.D., C. Psych
Dr. Roese has been educated in Germany and Canada and received her Ph.D. from York University. She is a clinical and counseling psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Dr. Roese who has studied and lived in different cultures herself has made it a priority to be aware and sensitive to multicultural and diverse religious backgrounds to serve her clients.
She has been in private practice in psychology servicing adults of all ages, teens, individuals, couples as well as families. She also has diverse experience in conducting groups.
Over two decades of practicing, she has been providing psychological consulting to corporations and institutions such as hospitals, private clinics, juvenile detention centers, adult jails, various community programmes and non-profit organizations.
She offers workshops, and provides coaching and corporate health consulting.
Dr. Roese practices psychotherapy with an emphasis on interactive, customized care that best meets clients’ needs. This approach integrates her skills and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Insight Oriented Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and several other scientifically based Supportive Therapies.
She was trained in Transcendental meditation (TM) in Switzerland where she lived and studied for one year. She expanded that training to mindfulness practice and Yoga relaxation she utilizes in teaching stress reduction.
Certified in Clinical Hypnosis and a certified Trauma Therapist.
Incorporates her training in art therapy into her unique approach to psychological treatment.
She has done research in the areas of eating disorders and body image issues, particularly obesity, substance abuse and learning.
